Specializing in traditional fast food fare, this beloved local spot expertly elevates familiar dishes with quality ingredients and generous portions.

Step inside Hagans and you’ll immediately sense the warm, no-fuss dining atmosphere—a place where the love of good, honest food takes center stage. It’s not about glitzy décor or trendy renovations; instead, it’s about crafting memorable meals that keep customers coming back. The charm lies in its authentic chippy vibe paired with friendly service and consistently delicious fare.

The menu reads like a celebration of all the best-loved British classics. Whether you’re craving a robust Porker Breakfast packed with perfectly cooked bacon and sausages, or an indulgent Breakfast Burger and Fries that blends breakfast favorites with pub-style heartiness, Hagans delivers with flair. For those seeking lighter but equally tasty options, the Medium Fish and Chips stand out as a true crowd-pleaser—crispy, flaky, and cooked to golden perfection every time. The Pensioners Fish and Chips with Peas is another popular choice, embodying the nostalgic charm of a classic seaside meal with a wholesome, comforting touch.

Vegetarians are equally well catered for, with options like Vegetable Sausages with Beans or Veggie Cakes, Chips, and Beans that prove meat-free doesn’t mean flavor-free. If you’re after something a bit different, the Cottage Pie and Chips or the Apple and Plum Crumble with Custard offer satisfying, homemade-style dishes that feel like a warm hug on a plate.

The variety also extends to the perfectly toasted baguettes and savoury toasties, with favorites like Chicken & Bacon or the classic Cheese & Onion providing quick yet delicious options. Prices stay reasonable without compromising taste or portion size, making Hagans a top pick for locals and visitors alike.

What truly sets Hagans Cafe & Chip Shop apart, beyond its enticing menu, is the glowing feedback from patrons who have made it their go-to spot. A visiting worker praised Hagans after trying every Carmarthen chippy, highlighting the unmistakable quality of their fish and chips that other shops just couldn’t match. Others rave about the warmth of the staff and the generosity of the servings—Vincent Rees lauds both the friendliness of the team and the hearty plates he’s reliably served.

Rebecca’s and Nicola Andrews’s reviews echo the sentiments of a clean, welcoming environment that complements the scrumptious food perfectly, making every visit a pleasure. Bernard LeCox’s animated recount of his experience captures the vibrant spirit of the cafe, where the food not only fuels your body but excites your senses and lifts your mood.

After our usual chippy in St Clears let us down twice recently we've tried all the Carmarthen chippy's, Hagans is the only one that we liked. Does it matter that its not the latest refurbishment like some of the other shops, we're not there to admire the premises, instead we got the best quality fish n' chips that the others couldn't match, and that's what it's about. On top of that you'll have no problem parking there & good friendly service. This is now our go to chippy, if the food is this good they deserve customers. I hope they will they will keep up the good standard.

Hagan's Smashed My Breakfast! What a meal! What a service! What a delicious place to eat! I arrived at the cafe. I was starving hungry. I'd only eaten a three course breakfast, a cheese board, and a small amount of budgie pàté that morning, so as you can imagine, I was ravenous. Delirious with hunger. Tweeking like a junkie in rehab. Ranting like a 1980s post match interview. Slurring my word like a wrestler after one too many piledrivers to the head. When I stumbled across Hagan's. I was immediately greeted by a friendly man who identified himself as an Undertaker (he was toe wrestling a man he called Kane). He was extremely friendly and kept offering me a tombstone (I bought mine by saving my pocket money when I was ten. I didn't know the day I'd die so I just stuck a pin in a calender. I've been dead for 60 years, but I'm looking good!) I took my chair at a table, which he offered to slam me through, I politely declined. He handed me the menu. I browsed and decided to have a full English Breakfast (can't go wrong). The portion was bigger than Andre the Giant. Heaving mass of protein. Steaming mountains of mushrooms. Tomatoes so red they looked like they'd been put in a head lock by Randy Orton. I couldn't have cooked better myself and I was once Gorden Ramsay's anger management coach on Hell's Kitchen. Hagan's Cafe 5/5

Gourmet experience in a traditional transport cafe style. Friendly staff, generous portions and super clean. I had a medium all day breakfast for lunch. It cost £8 with a mug of tea. It was perfectly cooked and looked like a brochure picture. I'll make a point of visiting again.

Tonight is our second week having the med Cod and chips. Show me where to nominate this place for the best fish and chips! It's so delicious, we agree that we've not tasted such a perfectly cooked takeaway that has stood the test of the transit home and tasted so good. Whatever you are doing Hagan's keep doing it. And if any of you out there haven't been or haven't been back in a while... go back and see if you agree. Outstanding cod and chips
